The 5th Mushroom Festival took place on Saturday, September 30th, and Sunday, October 1st, 2023, in Spilia, and the response from the public was truly moving! Thousands of visitors came to enjoy delicious mushroom based recipes, have fun, learn about their nutritional value, and witness the largest and tastiest mushroom orzotto ever created.
Talented chefs from the Cyprus Chefs Association put the giant pan on the fire and lovingly prepared a huge mushroom orzotto. All proceeds from the sales of this dish were donated to the “Amerikos Argyriou” Center for Preventive Pediatrics and the “Unique Smiles” Association, supporting people with rare diseases.
Once again, children were the stars of the festival, enjoying all the organized activities: bouncy castles, face painting, magicians, jugglers, stilt walkers, and the giant Transformer Bumblebee, who delighted both young and old!
The menu highlighted mushrooms as the foundation for tasty and creative dishes: mushroom burgers, oyster mushroom gyros with tzatziki, Mexican mushroom tacos with guacamole and cream, and of course, the now-classic mushroom soup.
The mission of the festival was accomplished with great success, as 16,793 visitors confirmed that the Mushroom Festival is here to stay, evolving into a beloved tradition that brings mushroom enthusiasts together every year.
This year, we look forward to welcoming you to a new location, Erimi in Limassol, for the Cyprus Mushroom Festival 2025 – a weekend full of flavors, games, surprises, and endless fun for the whole family. Visitors will have the chance to try 10 unique dishes made with all our mushroom varieties, offering an unforgettable gastronomic experience!
